"Development of a short-form Stroke Impact Scale using a machine learning
algorithm in patients at subacute stage" 今早剛被AJOT接受刊登!!
My main concern about this study is its fit with AJOT. The purpose and rational are important, but the methodology and implications are very complex for an OT journal. This seems to fit better to a quantitative methodology focused paper than an OT journal.
Response: Given that ML appears to be powerful and has been successfully used in most research fields, we believe that starting to apply such methodology in OT-related research is crucial for our profession. In particular, the AJOT, as the top-rated OT journal in the world, can be a pioneer in introducing ML methods to OT readers. Regarding the concern about complex methodologies, we have added more explanations of the methodology adopted for the ML-SIS for our readers, such as how and why item contribution/importance was calculated. Moreover, the ML-related terms used in this article have been further explained to improve readability. For example, the procedure section of the manuscript has been revised.
I am confident that this important research will make a valuable contribution to the literature and to the journal.
